Virtual Virginia’s (VVA) K–5 Elementary Program offers divisions, schools, and learners the option for high-quality, full-time virtual instruction in the 2021–2022 school year (180 instructional days). Two cohort start date options are available to support differing school calendars across the Commonwealth.

Through this program VVA will provide the Virginia-certified teacher of record, access to the VVA learning management system (LMS) with core asynchronous content, and high-quality synchronous instruction. Students will participate in core instructional activities in Reading and Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and STEM. Supplemental lessons in Physical Activity and Wellness, World Languages, Dance, and Arts will be offered to students enrolled in the Elementary Program. The local enrolling school retains autonomy to provide additional specials, student services, screeners/diagnostic exams, and SOL exams per the school/division policies.

K–5 Enrollment Fees

As with all VVA programs, students enrolled in the VVA K–5 Elementary Program remain affiliated with the enrolling school and the school division’s ADM.

Students in the K–5 Elementary Program are enrolled full time. Based on the school division’s 2020–2022 Local Composite Index (LCI), Virginia public schools participating in the K–5 Elementary Program will receive a per-student enrollment fee discount off the Band IV base enrollment fee, as referenced in the 2021–2022 K–5 Semester Fee Schedule below:
